Position & light

Place close to a bright window, away from cold draughts and direct radiator heat. A summer stay outdoors is possible only in reliably warm weather, after gradual acclimatisation to stronger light.

Watering

Feel the soil before watering. When the upper layer starts to dry, water the whole root ball thoroughly and allow it to drain. Avoid both permanently saturated soil and complete drying.

Feeding & pruning

Feed with suitable bonsai fertiliser while the tree is growing. Trim extending shoots to maintain its shape. Plan substantial root work for warm conditions when the tree is healthy and actively growing.

Winter care

Keep indoors, warm and frost-free, with as much natural light as possible. Water according to soil moisture, as growth and water use often slow in darker months.
